Mercy Amarachi Agugua is a Nigerian by nationality and birth. She is a qualified lawyer in Nigeria, who is involved in active legal practice. She was called to the Nigeria Bar in 2012 and since then, she has been exposed to the core of law practice in diverse dimensions.
She is a senior Associate in Emeka Ozoani SAN & Co a full service law firm in Nigeria. She is a Chartered Arbitrator of the Institute of Chartered Arbitrators(UK). She also holds a Masters degree in law and a higher diploma in theology.
She is also a law tutor and lead coach in LAWYERS INFOHUB, a virtual law Academy where she is utilizing her legal knowledge in teaching law to law students and young lawyers. She is also a public speaker, who has spoken in various forums within Nigeria and outside the country.
She mentors law students and young lawyers, as is interested in ensuring they are equipped with the requisite knowledge to compete with their contemporaries globally. She has several articles to her credit and recently three published two e-books for law students and lawyers titled ‘’ MISTAKES TO AVOID AS A YOUNG LAWYER, ‘’ALTERNATIVE LEGAL CAREERS FOR LAWYERS’’ , HONE YOUR SKILLS-The Lawyer’s Manual aimed at helping law students and young lawyers understand what law practice is all about and ways to have a fulfilling career.
She has won several awards both within and outside Nigeria. In 2021, she was recognized for her outstanding work under the media law category by simplex Academy for the work she is doing through her virtual law platform.
Most recently in 2022, she was recognized as one of the leading scholars for the International Bar Association(IBA) women in leadership Committee in an event held at Copenhagen Denmark. She was named as one of 50 legal luminaries in the Nigerian Legal space in 2022 and in year 2023, she was recognized as one of the 100 legal personalities of the year in Nigeria by the Legal Eagles Initiative Academy.
In march of 2024, she was recognized as one of the 100 young Leader Innovators Award recipient by the Jamie Pajoel University International for her contribution in the Nigerian legal space.
She is a researcher and has authored and co-authored several articles published in reputable journals within and outside Nigeria.
She is also a women and children’s rights advocate, as she offers free legal services for women and children who are victims of abuse, gender discrimination, sexual molestation, right violations of any sort, ensuring they get the justice they deserve.
She is a positive life coach and influencer, who through her skills and knowledge helped change lives around her and impact into the society as a change maker. As a trailblazer who is hardworking, resilient and focused, she believes that dreams do come through, if you can work on them. During mercy’s free time, she write and composes Christian songs as a hobby.
